Fall graduates
- You may participate in the spring commencement ceremony.
- The last day you may file a Black Hawk College Graduation Application for fall graduation is Dec. 9, 2011.
Spring and summer graduates
To attend the May commencement or have your name in the commencement program and newspaper:
- You must apply for graduation no later than April 2, 2012. This insures that a cap and gown will be ordered for you, and that your name will be in the commencement program and the newspaper.
- If you apply after Monday April 2, 2012, you will be assessed a $25 late fee. Your name may not appear in the commencement program or newspaper and you may not have a cap and gown either.
If you aren’t interested in attending commencement or having your name in the program or newspaper, the deadline for filing a Black Hawk College Graduation Application for spring graduates is Friday, May 11, 2012. For summer graduates, the deadline is Friday, July 20, 2012.
Other commencement notes
- There is no charge for graduation or commencement.
- Be sure to mark your height and weight on the graduation application and indicate whether you plan to attend commencement. We will order your cap and gown for you.
- Caps and gowns may be picked up in the Enrollment Services Office beginning Monday, May 14, 2012. The last day a cap and gown can be ordered is Monday, April 2, 2012.
- Commencement rehearsal lasts approximately two hours, and it is very important that you attend.
- The Quad-Cities Campus Commencement is Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the i wireless Center in downtown Moline
- Rehearsal is at noon.
- Commencement is at 7 p.m.
- Caps and gowns can be picked up between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, May 14 in the lower lobby of Building 1. If you can’t pick up your cap and gown at this time, they will be available in Enrollment Services until Wednesday, May 16.
- The East Campus Commencement is Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Kewanee National Guard Armory in downtown Kewanee.
- Rehearsal is at 9:30 a.m.
- Commencement is at 7 p.m.
