I was born and grew up in Bulgaria, a small country in Eastern Europe. I attended Saint Louis University in Madrid, Spain and then transferred to the home campus in St. Louis, Missouri where I earned a B.S. in Biology. I completed my graduate work in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph Baldassare at the St. Louis University Medical School and earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacological and Physiological Sciences in 2006. I studied cell signaling and in particular the effects of the coagulation protein thrombin and the fanily of Ras proteins on cell growth and proliferation.
I started teaching at BHC in the spring of 2006 as an adjunct faculty and continued teaching as a full time instructor in the fall of 2006.
I live in Davenport with my husband Ruben and our two Alaskan malamutes, Rora and Teya. When I am not working, I ride my horse Zeppy and walk my dogs, who always manage to keep me entertained. I enjoy movies and books. I love to snowboard when we can escape to Colorado and try to go back to Europe and visit my family as often as I can.
