Engineering, Computer, and Apprenticeship Technologies

The Career Technologies Department at the Quad-Cities Campus is comprised of eight full-time faculty members. Their educational and professional backgrounds enhance the learning experience for students taking these courses.

The Career Technologies Department offers a number of certificates, career programs and a transfer associate degree in Law Enforcement. Career programs include: Computer Specialist (with tracks in Desktop Support, Programming, Web, Network Administration and Security), Engineering Technology (with tracks in Electrical, Manufacturing, and Mechanical), Law Enforcement Technology, Apprenticeship Training (Carpenter, Electrician, Machine Repair, Machinist, Patternmaker, Pipe Trades, Sheet Metal, Tool and Die Maker), AutoCad, CNC, ProE, Sustainable Energy, and Logistics and Warehousing. Some programs offer multiple tracks or options to the field of study. Options allow students to focus their study in a specific area that more appropriately suits their individual interest or employment needs.

Visit the Computer Careers home page for more information on deciding what computers specialties to pursue, preparing for external certifications (such as CISCO’s CCNA and A ), and what programs and courses offered at Black Hawk College.

Visit the Engineering Technology website, funded by the NSF. Technology has transformed manufacturing and increased its efficiency, creating highly skilled, motivating jobs. It’s an exciting career choice with opportunities to use your brain and develop your skills. Few other industries offer the range of career choices, excellent wages and a chance to play a role in our nation’s economy. There are many excellent, secure positions that do not take a four-year degree. Explore your options here. The certificates below can be completed in a short amount of time.
