The Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Quad Cities Chapter 299 recently donated $1,500 to the Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Foundation for student scholarships.

Chapter president Terry Lynch of Moline (left) and catering chair Ray Hamilton of Port Byron presented the check to Dr. Bettie Truitt, Black Hawk College interim president, and Jessica Malcheff, executive director of the Black Hawk College QC Foundation.

The money was generated by concession sales at the Sept. 28 Quad City’s Vintage Rods Annual Car Show at the Quad-Cities Campus.

The new VVA scholarship was awarded this fall to two Quad-Cities Campus students for the 2014-15 school year.

Any veteran or active duty military member from any branch of the service may apply for the scholarship. Foundation scholarship applications will be available March 1 at foundation.bhc.edu.
