The Black Hawk College East Campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society recently conducted a fundraiser to support the East Campus Food Pantry.

Raffle ticket sales during the Feb. 13 women’s and men’s basketball games at the Kewanee National Guard Armory netted $85, which was used to purchase groceries to stock the much-needed pantry.

Raffle tickets were $1 each or a canned food donation. Ten tickets were drawn. The winners each received a $5 Cerno’s gift certificate and advanced to the halftime shootout during the men’s game. The shootout winner received a $20 Beck’s gift certificate.

“We are really grateful for the food contribution from Phi Theta Kappa. We have had many requests for food pantry items since the beginning of the spring semester. With this sizeable contribution, we are well-stocked and ready for more requests,” said Barb Bolser, LRC coordinator.
