Black Hawk College hosted the Illinois Community College Board meeting Friday, Sept. 20 at the Quad-Cities Campus in Moline.
“Black Hawk College is delighted to host the Illinois Community College Board meeting,” said Dr. Thomas Baynum, Black Hawk College president.
“It is a pleasure to spotlight our college and to share some of the wonderful activities in which we are engaged,” he said.
The Illinois Community College Board consists of 11 members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Illinois Senate for six-year terms. One student member is selected by the ICCB Student Advisory Committee for a one-year term. The board chair is selected by the governor. Board meetings are in January, March, May, June, September and November.
The board’s Fiscal, Personnel, Ethics and Conflict of Interest Committee met at the college Friday morning.
The board’s Adult Education and Workforce Development Committee and External Affairs Committee conducted a joint meeting Thursday night, Sept. 19 at Stoney Creek Inn in Moline.
