Chinese high school students visit Quad-Cities Campus

The Quad-Cities Campus hosted 55 Chinese high school students Monday, July 22 as part of the Rivers as Bridges 2013 program.

The students are in the Midwest for a two-week visit, touring and studying the Mississippi River region in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Rivers as Bridges connects people – especially youth – from the Mississippi and Yangtze river regions through shared experiences and achievements in culture, conservation and commerce.

During their Black Hawk College stop, the students surveyed the stream under Building 4 and evaluated water samples in the lab.

Chad Pregracke, BHC alumnus and president and founder of Living Lands & Waters, talked to the students about his river cleanup project that began in 1997.

The Rivers as Bridges visit was cosponsored by the Black Hawk College QC Foundation.
