Sanela Karic is pursuing her associate degree in nursing. She chose to attend Black Hawk College because of the flexibility of classes, proximity to her home and affordable tuition. After graduation, Sanela plans to visit family back home in Slovenia and Bosnia before she begins to prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). She is transferring to Western Illinois University and hopes to obtain a nursing position while working on her bachelor’s degree. When she is not busy with classes, Sanela is an active member of the Black Hawk College chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). She enjoys being in NSNA for the community involvement, leadership opportunities and friendships.
