A $1.12 million Small Business Administration grant has been awarded to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to assist Illinois small businesses in developing overseas markets for their products and services.
DCEO’s Office of Trade and Investment received State Trade and Export Program (STEP) funding for a second year. The STEP program provides small- and medium-sized businesses in Illinois with financial and technical assistance, including the opportunity to participate in group trade missions, individual foreign market sales missions or product compliance certification.
The Illinois Small Business Development Center/International Trade Center at Black Hawk College can assist local small businesses with applying for STEP funding as well as provide more information on group trade missions sponsored by DCEO, individual foreign market sales missions and product compliance certification assistance.
