Black Hawk College East Campus Men’s Basketball Coach BJ McCullum has announced some new additions to the Warriors 2012-2013 roster.
“I really like the way this freshman class is shaping up” said McCullum. “We are getting some very good players who come with talent and accolades from previous high school teams. Adding these young men to our current signings has given us the talent level to compete with the best in our league and possibly on the National D2 level depending on development”.
Corey Gregg — 6’3 Guard from Ashland High School; Ashland, Kentucky – 2nd Team All-State Kentucky
Corey is a tough competitor who was a “Mr. Everything” in high school who scored over 2000 points and grabbed over 1000 rebounds during his career. He played inside and out and can really score.
Savuyun Ladkin — 6’6 from Pelican High School; Pelican, Louisiana
Savuyun started on a Louisiana High School State Champ and grabbed 17 rebounds in the State Championship game. He is explosive, hardworking and will only get better; could become a great player.
Christian Van Hook — 6’4 Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Illinois
Christian is an explosive shooter with a nearly unlimited ceiling. He will be as good as he chooses to be. One knowledgeable Railer fan said about Christian, “He may be the best basketball athlete come through Lincoln in the past 20 years and maybe ever”. That is high praise considering the Railers have one of Illinois’ best programs.
Darren Weeks – 6’1 Guard from Bartonville, Illinois. Started at Limestone Community High School and St. Ignatius Prep School, Spartanburg, S.C.
Darren is extremely quick and versatile; he can pressure the ball defensively and really push the tempo offensively.
According to Coach McCullum the Warriors aren’t done yet, “We are still looking to add one or two big bodies inside to round out this class and take us to the next level”.
