International Festival 2012

The 2012 Black Hawk College International Festival will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, April 14 in the gym in Building 3 at the Quad-Cities Campus.

Browse vendors selling handmade items from around the world and enjoy music and dance performances representing countries such as India, the Philippines, China, Mexico and Ireland. There also will be free children’s activities.

Vendors include:

  • Gladys Navarro (Ecuador and Latin America)
  • Jeanne Nakamaru (Centro Maya)
  • Cayte Rivera
  • Manisha Paudel
  • El Mariachi — Mexican food
  • Ming Wah restaurant — Chinese food
  • Olive Tree Café — Mediterranean food

The performance schedule is:

3:00 – Native American Coalition of the Quad-Cities
3:20 – Kalanjali (Indian dance)
3:35 – Quad Cities Ballet Folklórico
4:00 – Philippine Dance Troupe of the Quad-Cities
4:20 – Kalanjali
4:40 – Philippine Dance Troupe of the Quad-Cities
4:55 – Native American Coalition of the Quad-Cities
5:10 – Sevillanas dance
5:20 – Chinese dance
5:40 – Fire in the Belly (Celtic music)

All money raised by ticket sales goes toward ESL/international student scholarships through the Black Hawk College Foundation.
