From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, Black Hawk College is hosting one of four public hearings Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon is holding throughout the state for the Classrooms First Commission (K-12).

Education officials have been invited to provide testimony to the commission to “assist in finding ways to improve learning and efficiency at Illinois’ more than 870 school districts.”

The hearing will be at the Quad-Cities Campus, Building 4, Conference Rooms 1 & 2. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Any persons wanting to give public comment will need to sign in and are encouraged to bring written testimony. The public comment period will be limited to 90 minutes, with five minutes maximum given to each speaker. Speakers will be given time on a first-come first-served basis.
