Anyone Can Learn to Draw, Part 1

Learn to move away from flat on the surface sketches and into three-dimensional into the surface sketches. Bring to the first class: one 9″ x 12″ or 11″ x 8 ½” sketch pad, a 2-B and 4-B drawing pencil, and any eraser.

Intro to Watercolor Techniques
Instructor: P. Gromm
Watercolor is about the fluidity of paint, the texture of brush strokes, and amount of water. Every technique produces its unique result. Learn basic watercolor techniques and you’ll be hooked on creating watercolor paintings. Bring to the first class a #2 pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor sketchbook and 140-lb. watercolor paper. You will be given a list of needed watercolors at the first class.

Watercolor Spring Colors

Spring is just around the corner and now is a good time to experiment in painting the high-key pastel colors that say new life. We will explore some of the various color schemes such as Analogous, Complementary, and Split-Complementary. We will also look at how to create an impact area by use of full intensity colors. Bring a sketchbook and a #2 pencil to first class. A list of supplies will be given at that time.

Colored Pencil Flower Drawing

With a few colored pencils, render a likeness of those beautiful flowers just outside your window. Learn simple techniques for shading and highlighting flowers, as well as understanding their basic structure. Bring a sketch book and school pencil to first class. A supply list will be given first day of class.

Intro to Conversational Spanish

Do you know someone who speaks Spanish or do you plan to travel? Use this course as a way to quickly learn the basics of pronunciation, the alphabet, numbers, and everyday words and conversational phrases in Spanish. You’ll also learn some travel-related vocabulary and fun phrases in this six-week course taught by a native speaker.

Learn tips that affect your photos such as the size of picture, memory, speed, etc. on your digital camera. Discover how digital pictures are moved from the camera to the computer and the differences in picture files bitmap, jpeg, gif and when each should be used. Have fun learning how to make your digital photos even better by using the photo editor on your computer to crop, edit, remove red-eye, resize, change brightness, contrast, add more color, etc. You will soon be able to take advantage of the many great features your camera and computer offer.
